Treasure of 39 million Tea Plants |
|
|
Millions of Tea Plants.., altogether 39
millions of tea bushes..., covers today
this beautiful valley of Bogawantalawa.
Each single bush is surrounded by the
same volume and attention - year from
year. Careful and skillful hands attend
to this more than 100 year old tradition
of planting, plucking, preserving and
rejuvenating these golden green plants.
The tea bush is treated like a bonsai
tree, regularly pruned and designed to
fit the height of the female Pluckers
and to receive the maximum n umber of
fresh buds. When plucked, its leaves are
carefully chosen by nimble fingers of
ladies, gentle enough for the very
delicate features of the tea leaves.
This orthodox manual way of plucking and
handling these cherished tea plants,
result in a pure, high quality tea with
a fully rounded bouquet. So this
nature's heaven of rest is preserved
through this utmost lovingly and careful
way of handling the tea - all the way
from the young tea plant to the final
tea crystals.
