Sustainable management of natural
resources is vital and these activities
are managed by Forestry & Timber

collaboration with the estate management
by introducing diverse agro forestry
models. Agro Forestry could be simply
defined as integrating agriculture,
forestry and Dairy Farming / Animal
husbandry into a synergistic system.

degradation.
- Improve soil physical, chemical
& biological properties.
- Be a carbon neutral plantation
while enhancing the bio diversity.

CDM project |
Consequent to the conversion of the tea
factories (boilers and heaters) from
liquid fuel into solid fuel wood in the
upcountry estates, we are in the process
of obtaining CDM (Clean Development
Mechanism) status through a “Bio Mass
Thermal Energy Carbon Emission Project”
for Loinorn, Campion, Bogawana &
Bogawantalawa factories.
The project has categorized into a small
scale carbon project according to the
United Nations Framework Convention on
Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the expected
Carbon Emission Reduction (CER) is
around 3,300 t of CO2 per annum. The
project estimated to sell the CER for
the six consecutive years. |
